Beidou No. 1
Beidou No.1 is a rare varietal of Wuyi Rock Tea cultivated from cuttings of the original Da Hong Pao mother trees, grown on Beidou Peak in Wuyishan. This cultivar, with over 70 years of cultivation history, features broad-leafed plants with glossy green foliage and dense branching.
Crafted entirely by hand using traditional methods, this tea is custom-produced by Ruiquan tea master Huang Shengliang – a nationally recognized inheritor of intangible cultural heritage in Da Hong Pao tea-making and a senior tea evaluation expert.
This varietal has been preserved and developed since 1999 to maintain its rich, complex aroma. The spring harvest is conducted only once a year between mid to late April. The leaves are processed through withering, tossing, pan-firing, rolling, drying, refining, and precise charcoal roasting.
This is the finest Wuyi rock tea we sell, and in most years there is very little of it.
